Mandate Period - The Israel Exploration Society was founded in 1913 by a group of intellectuals in Israel in order to broaden the historical, geographic and archeologic study of the land of Israel. A. Small advertising brochure containing an explanation about the important activity of the Society and a call to join it or donate to it. Includes silver-colored illustrations. Signatures of Binyamin Maisler (Mazar) and Dr. Yitzchak Ernst Neventzal. Was probably printed at the beginning of the forties. 4 pp. Condition: Very Good. Two tiny holes. B. Chafirot Beit She'arim Bishnot 1939-1940 (The Excavations of Beit She'arim during the Years 1939-1940)). By Dr. Binyamin Maisler, Jerusalem 1940. Including photographs. Hebrew and English with an additional title page. 32 pp. Recently, the site was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. Condition: Very Good. C. The Excavations.
