Catalogue of Judaica Items by Prof. Frantz Landsberger, The Jewish Museum in Berlin, August 1935 - The first Jewish Museum in Berlin opened on 24.1.1933 yet closed in 1938. Only fifty years later, in 1978, it reopened. The catalogue includes black-and-white photographs of synagogues in Israel and Europe, ritual articles for various countries and portraits. Prof. Franz Landsberger was a lecturer in the history of art at the Breslau University. During the years 1935-1938, he managed the Jewish Museum in Berlin, after he was fired from the university. He was arrested in 1938, on Kristallnacht, yet eventually succeeded in escaping to the USA. Condition: Very Good.
