Announcement about a Mail Item that was Sent During the Holocaust from the Czech Republic to the Sachsenhausen concentration camp – 1953
Announcement about a mail item that was sent by E. Paskova from Litmysl in the Czech Republic to Josek Vladimir, No. 20797, Block 48, Sachsenhausen, a concentration camp near Berlin.
The announcement is stamped with three Hitler stamps of different values with the postmark of Litomysl and the date 15.12.1943.
Sachsenhausen Concentration Camp was the central concentration camp in the area of Berlin. It was built in the city of Oranienburg near Berlin in 1936 and was one of the most notorious Nazi camps. More than 100,000 people found their death in the camp. The camp was released by the Allies in 1945. When it was released, only 3000 weak and starving prisoners remained in the camp.
