”El Maleh Rachamim Le'Chalalei Tzahal” - A Different, Earlier Version - a Large, Handwritten Prayer that Hang on the Wall of the Synagogue - The prayer of ”El Maleh Rachamim”, written in nice handwriting. Used to hang on the wall of an old synagogue in Tel Aviv. Written by Moshe Aharon Rubenstein. This is a very early version of the prayer and there are many differences between this version and the one that is said today. Above the writing, a star-of-David with the word ”Israel” inside it and an illustration of two yahrzeit candles on both its sides. A black frame is drawn around the prayer. The version that is said today was written by Rabbi Shlomo Goren, the Chief Rabbi of the IDF, when the Western Wall was released during the Six-Day-War and there it was said for the first time by the excited paratroopers, who had lost some of their friends a short while beforehand. The version before us is a different, earlier version of the prayer. 52x40 cm. Condition: Good-Very Good. A small tear at the bottom of the poster.
