Second, revised edition, with glosses and corrections that had not been included in the first edition. It is most likely that the book before us, from 1837, is the first edition of ”Nefesh Ha'Chaim” as a complete book. In addition, in this edition, Rabbi Yitzchak, Rabbi Chaim's son, printed softer words towards the Hassidim, in two places in the fourth chapter. The format of the following editions was determined according to this one. On the title page of the book, ancient inscriptions: ”Belongs to Reb Yehuda … Dubrovno”. ”This Nefesh Ha'Chaim to Reb Leib Shemlinger”. Condition: Good-Fair. The first leaves are worn. B.
