Beit Aharon (Karlin) - Brody, 1875 - First Edition - Extremly Rare Copy in Excellent Condition - Beit Aharon – On Torah and service of G-d, by the Rebbe Rabbi Aharon Perlow of Karlin. With a collection of Chassidic behaviors, Torah thoughts and letters by the third Rebbe of the dynasty of Karlin-Stolin: Rabbi Aharon ”The Great” (son of Rabbi Yaakov) of Karlin, his son – Rabbi Asher (the first), his son – Rabbi Aharon (the second, ”the elder”), and his son – Rabbi Asher (the second, ”the young”). Most of the book is by Rabbi Aharon ”the elder”. Brody, 1875. First edition. About the rarity of the copy before us, and about the process of the book's publishing and its correction after the publishing, we will quote an excerpt from the booklet ”Beit Aharon V'Yisrael” year 6 issue 1 (31), from the special article of Rabbi Avraham Avish Shor: ”With the end of the printing of the book and the Chassidim's editing after the printing and the arranging of the ”Index of Errors” the work was still not completed. After everything seemed to be completed, the Chassidim discovered several severe errors which required the re-printing of a number of leaves and the ”Index of Errors” was not sufficient to correct the distortion. They cut out the mistaken leaves and replaced them with the corrected leaves. A few copies survived from this early edition which were notג corrected, and due to this it was possible to note the leaves which replaced the mistaken leaves. The corrected leaves are: 11. 102. 147”. In the copy before us the mistaken leaves which were originally printed remained in their place, and the corrected leaves were bound after the second title page – a most rare phenomenon! An additional change difference between this copy in contrast with the other copies is that on the rear side of the title page is written in the printer's words ”to be aware and to discover that there are 410 approbations from the leaders of the generation…”, whereas in other copies a longer apology is written which begins with the words ”to be aware and to discover that there are 410 approbations from the righteous men of our generation…”.
