A Letter from Rabbi Shemaryahu Gurary Regarding the Immigration of Students of the ”Tomchei Temimim” Yeshiva to Israel - Riga, 1940 - An urgent letter sent by Rabbi Shemaryahu Gurary to Rabbi Chanoch Hendel Havlin, the director of the ”Tomchei Temimim” yeshiva in Jerusalem, with a request to urgently attain permits for immigration and enterance into Israel (certificates) for a number of boys from the ”Tomchei Temimim” yeshiva in Riga. ”This is a very vital matter and is of ultimate value…and I double my great request to do and act about this matter with great enthusiasm and tremendous efforts…”. Rabbi Gurary requests from him to attain a certificate for his brother, Rabbi Yisrael Gurary and his family, as well as his relative Zvi Hirsch Gurary, along with another few people mentioned in the letter.
