Letter of Divrei Torah Handwritten and Signed by the Natziv of Volozhin to his Son Rabbi Chaim Berlin - Letter handwritten and signed by Rabbi Naftali Zvi Yehuda Berlin of Volozhin, to his son, Rabbi Chaim Berlin. Undated. The letter is about the laws of Berachot (blessings): the blessings of the Mitzvot and the blessing of time (”Shehechiyanu”). It begins with the words: ”My beloved son”. At the end of the letter, the Natziv modestly writes: ”I would also like to inform you that I have erred” in the interpretation of a certain Sugiya which he had discussed with his son. He signs the letter: ”I your father writing … Naftali Zvi Yehuda Berlin”. 8 handwritten lines. Rabbi Naftali Zvi Yehuda berlin (the Natziv of Volozhin, 1817-1893), the son-in-law of Rabbi Yitzchak of Volozhin and his replacer as the head of the Volozhin Yeshiva. Authored many books: commentary on the Mechilta, ”Ha'amek She'ela” on the She'iltot, ”Ha'amek Davar” on the Torah, ”Meshiv Davar” Responsa and more. His son, Rabbi Chaim berlin, served as the rabbi of Moscow.
