The letter is addressed to Rabbi Eliezer Sirkis, an important Gur Hassid and one of the leaders of ”Agudat Yisrael”, who was a member of the Polish parliament as well as Rabbi meir Shapira. Sirkis immigrated to the Land of Israel in 1936. In the letter, Rabbi Meir Shapira asks Sirkis to help his yeshiva in Lublin. Among others, he writes, ”As he acted in favor of our institution then, so will his hand be outstretched this time”. Rabbi Meir Shapira (1887-1934), one of the rabbis of Poland, Av Beit Din of Piotrkow and Lublin, the founder of the ”Daf Yomi”, one of the founders of ”Agudat Yisrael” and one of the most illustrious rabbis of his generation. One of the outstanding rabbis of ”Mo'etzet Gedolei Ha'Torah” a genius in Halacha and Aggadah. A gifted speaker and activist. A member of the Polish parliament. He died having no children yet said of himself that he had two: the first was the study of the ”Daf Yomi” which he had founded and the second the ”Chachmei Lublin” Yeshiva, which had thousand of students, some of which were most prominent rabbis. 27.5x20.5 cm.
