Halachic Response on the Matter of a Mikveh on Behalf of the ”Chazon Ish”, Handwritten by The Steipler - Bnei Berak, 1950 - Important and Rare - Halachic response regarding a kashrut certification of a Mikveh, handwritten by Rabbi Ya'akov Yisrael Kanievsky, ”The Steipler”, in the name of Rabbi Avraham Yesha'aya Karelitz, the ”Chazon Ish”. The letter was sent to Rabbi of Kefar Atta (Kiryat Atta). ”I have spoken to the Rabbi Shalita about the Mikveh…”. During an examination of the spoken Mikveh, a kashrut problem was discovered and after a halachic consultation of The Steipler with his brother-in-law, the ”Chazon Ish” a solution was found, although not from the outset but only in this specific case, which is considered post factum. At the end of the letter, the signature of Rabbi Zelig Ha'Cohen Shapira, who was the person in charge of the building of Mikva'ot on behalf of the ”Chazon Ish”. Due to the efforts of the ”Chazon Ish”, dozens of Mikva'ot were built all around the country. This letter indicates the involvement of the ”Chazon Ish” in basing and supporting the keeping of the Torah and Mitzvot in Isreal, although he never held an official position. To the best of our knowledge, this letter has never been published! 13 lines in the handwriting of The Steipler. 21x27 cm. Condition: Good. Folding marks.
