Kiddush Cup of the Eldest of the Kabbalist Rabbi Yitzchak Kaduri - ”anyone who drinks form it will merit blessing, salvation and health” - A silver Kiddush cup which was used on Sabbath by Rabbi Yitzchak Kaduri, ”The Eldest of the Kabbalists”. A silver Kiddush cup positioned on a leg, with decorations of bunches of grapes and grape leaves. With a dedication: ”As a keepsake from the Or Yom Tov Yeshiva to the genius rabbi the Tzaddik kabbalist Rabbi Yitzchak Kaduri Shalita”. Attached is a handwritten confirmation by his son, the kabbalist Rabbi David Kaduri, from the 16th of Sivan 5768 (19.6.2008), on which it is written: ”I hereby testify that the silver Kiddush cup with the dedication from the Or Yom Tov Yeshiva was used constantly by my father on Sabbath and anyone who drinks form it will merit blessing, salvation and health, king regards David Kaduri”. Rabbi Yitzchak Kaduri was born in the end of the 19th century in Iraq. In his childhood, he met the ”Ben Ish Chai”. He studied Torah and Kabbala with the rabbis of Iraq and Jerusalem, to which he immigrated in 1922. During his first years in Jerusalem, he earned his living by binding books. He studied at the ”Beit El” and ”Porat Yosef” yeshivas in the Old City. Over the years, he became known as a gifted kabbalist and many came to him to receive his blessing, advice and amulets. He died at an advanced age in 2006, thousands of people attending his funeral. Height: 15 cm. Diameter: 8.5 cm. Weight: 110 gram.
