Illustrated Ketubah on Parchment - Large and Impressive - with a Special Addition of a Commitment to Chalitza! - Ancona, 1848 - Large, impressive Ketubah, written and illustrated on parchment, recording the marriage of the groom Yitzchak ben Menachem ben Yehoshua Trivi and the bride Mazal Tov bat Yehuda Shabtai Almiya. Ancona, 1848. Written and illustrated by hand, in ink and colors. The blank part of the document is in square Italian script. The frame of the Ketubah is decorated with flora, leaves and flowers, in various colors - red, green, blue and yellow. On the upper part, a round frame with the inscription: ”BeSimana Tava U'Ve'Mazala Me'Alya La'Chatana Ve'Lakalta…”. The signatures of the witnesses appear at the end: ”Ya'akov Yisrael Me'Adumim”, ”Yoav Yehoshua Chaim Avraham Yisrael Shlomo Tisoro”. At the bottom of the Ketubah, in cursive Italian script, appears a commitment of the groom's brother to perform a kosher Chalitza in the event of the groom dying with no children.
