The First Official Coin Series of Israel - 1949 - During the years 1952-1954, Leumi Bank issued a special series of coins of the 1949 issue. This is the first official series of coins of the State of Israel. Only 300 coins of this series were issued. The coins were set in a pale blue plastic case with depressions like those of an egg carton covered by a transparent Perspex plaque with a golden Hebrew inscription of ”The State of Israel” and the years 1949-1950. The series included a coin of 25 Mil and nine silver coins of 250 Prutah and 500 Prutah. Condition: New.
