A Gothic book about the Hebrew calendar, with tables, Leipzig, 1856 - A book about the calculation of the Hebrew calendar by L.M. Lewisohn from Leipzig, Germany. At the end of the book there are two tables with signs for calculating the calendar according to years and Parashat Ha'Shavua. In recent years, the book has been reprinted in several places around the world as a facsimile photocopy of the original book. Ownership stamp of Dr. Yosef Chazanovitz, a doctor from Bialystok, who was among the founders of the National Library and was responsible for the delivery of more 20,000 books to Jerusalem. The doctor was famous for his care of the poor. He was among the founders of 'Chovevei Zion' and was an enthusiastic supporter of Rabbi Shmuel Mohilever as the chief rabbi of Bialystok. After he was indeed chosen, they were both chosen to represent the city at the Katowice Convention and travelled together to the Land of Israel. 82 pp. Condition: Good, the cover is falling apart.
