Miyarketei Tevel (From the End of the World), a Journey Book of the historian and researcher Zvi Kasdai, 1914, with a dedication by the author - Two parts of the book 'Meyarketei Tevel', Luntz Print, Jerusalem 1914. 1. Part A, 'Meyarketei Tzafon' (From the North), describes the author's journeys to Siberia and ”the regions close to the north pole”. 2. Part B, 'Meyarketei Mizrach' (From the East), the author's journeys to China, Japan and the Far East. The title page includes the author's dedication to ”the honored author Mr. K. Silmon [=Kaddish Silman?) and an ownership stamp. Zvi Kasdai (1862-1937) was born in Kiev. He learned in a 'Heder' and independently completed his education in additional fields such as Hebrew literature and history. He worked as a merchant and was active in Zionist movements. He used his journeys to distant countries to teach Jews the Zionist ideology. Kasdai published his impressions from his journeys in the Hebrew newspapers of his time and then in the book before us during his visit to Palestine in 1913-1914. His memoirs were published in the collection 'Rashumot' by Bialik, Ravintzky and Droynov. Condition: Good, missing the cover, some of the pages are detached, single moth holes.
