Album-like book and newspaper about Winston Churchill - 1. Winston Churchill: The Greatest Figure of Our Time, published by The Illustrated London News, 1954. A magnificent album-like book which was published in honor of Churchill's 80th birthday. The book contains four parts: in the parliament, at war, about the man, and his place in history. Each part is accompanied by matching pictures of Churchill. 68 pp. Condition: Very good. 2. An issue of the original 'Observer' covering Churchill's funeral 24.1.1965. The issue contains many pictures from the funeral. Condition: Very good. Sir Winston Leonard Spencer Churchill (1874-1965), a British politician. Twice he served as the British prime-minister, one of them during World War II. He fought as a soldier in several of Britain's wars while covering them as a journalist as well. Due to his determination and decisiveness during World War II, he was acknowledged as the architect of the victory over Nazi Germany. He received the Nobel Prize for the history books he had written. He is considered one of the greatest personalities of the 20th century.
