Bound collection of 12 issues of “Children’s World”, 1927-8 - Bi-weekly newspaper “Children's World” was published between 1927-9. Its editor was the poet Abraham Solodor, and it included children’s stories, poems, riddles and games, scientific articles, and pieces on intriguing people from around the world and from the Land of Israel. Abraham Solodor (1890-1936). Upon moving to Odessa to practice teaching, he met Chaim Nachman Bialik, who encouraged him at the beginning of his literary career. Solodor immigrated to the Land of Israel in 1911 and taught at Yesod HaMa’alah. His translation of “Dr. Dolittle”, which was published as a book in 1929, first appeared in these issues of “Children's World”. 12 issues, bound in non-original hard cover binding. Rare!
