“Holy Stones: Remnants of Polish Synagogues”, 1959 - Illustrations booklet of synagogues in Poland by Joseph Tzempelah. The material was collected by A. Golomb. Dvir publishing, Tel Aviv, 1959. 18 illustrations of synagogues in various towns in Poland - Krakow, Sandomierz, Zamosc, Szcebrzeszyn, Pinczow, and others, as well as illustrations of streets in Poland and monuments of the great men of Israel. Joseph Tzempelah was one of the greatest artists and graphic artists in Poland. A “Righteous among the Nations”, who in great self-sacrifice helped his fellow Jews during the occupation of Krakow by the Nazis. His impressive and highly-detailed illustrations were made to commemorate the Poland’s Jewry. 18 large paintings (39X29 cm), with an 8-page introduction by David Davidovich. Painted cardboard envelope. Condition: Good, several pages have been detached.
