“History of Beitar in Austria”, Tel Aviv, 1966, with a dedication by the editor - Album book depicting the history of the Beitar movement in Austria. The book describes the history of the movement in pictures and words in Hebrew and German. The book includes several hundreds of photographs (black and white) documenting the movement members, important moments in Beitar history, illegal immigration to Israel and the Beitar youth training. The book provides historical explanations, words of movement songs, and facsimile copies of journals associated with it (“Tel Hai”, “The People”, etc.). The editor, Dr. Arie Kapel, was commander-in-chief of Beitar. He is credited with making the Vienna branch of Beitar the most influential of all Zionist movements in Austria. The first page of this edition includes a dedication by the editor: ”To the loyal friend of Beitar Austria, Hans Perutz, from former Beitar Austria members, Dr. Arie Kapel”. Hans Perutz, prominent Zionist activist, was active in the socialist movements of political Zionism. Later he joined the Revisionist movement, and was a close friend of Ze’ev Jabotinsky. A large leather-bound album, 35X25 cm. 124 pp. Condition: good. The album is intact and all the pages are in place, but it is missing the filing rings.
