A certificate of Matza Shmura baked by Rabbi Shlomo Bloch and a receipt in his handwriting - A certificate that confirms that certain Matzos are Matzot Shmurot baked by Rabbi Shlomo Bloch. Rabbi Shlomo Bloch was a Torah scholar in the first half of the twentieth century. In his childhood, he studied Torah with the greatest rabbis in Eastern Europe – at 'Ohel Torah' Yeshiva with the Alter of Novardok, Rabbi Yosef Yozel Horowitz, and with Rabbi Yisrael Meir Ha'Cohen, the Chofetz Chaim, which eventually became his significant rabbi. In addition, he was influenced by rabbi Yechiel Michl Ha'Levy Epstein, the author of 'Aruch Ha'Shulchan'. Later, Rabbi Bloch immigrated to Israel and lived in Jerusalem. In Israel he studied Kabbala and was in contact with the Kabbalists of Jerusalem, especially Rabbi Shlomo Elyashuv, the author of 'Leshem'. Rabbi Bloch used to bake matzos for Passover. Before us is a certificate that refers to these matzos. The certificate demonstrates that in addition to Rabbi Bloch's responsibility for the kashruth of the matzos, he himself reaped and ground the wheat for the matzos. The Chazon Ish, Rabbi Avraham Yesha'ayahu Kerlitz, used to buy his matzos from Rabbi Bloch. 15X15 cm. Attached is a receipt hand-written by Rabbi Bloch from 1943 which specifies the bill for the 'guarded flour' (from which he baked the matzos) in Palestine Pounds. At the head of the receipt it is written 'Yeshivat Ohel Torah' - Beit Midrash for the study of the Talmud in Jerusalem whiach was managed under the supervision of the Chief Rabbi Yitzchak Ha'Levy Hertzog.
