A RARE AND IMPORTANT SAFED SPICE CONTAINER WITH MERON INTEREST KEVER REBBE SHIMON BAR YOCHAI. R' - Safed, c. 1900. On a round base with a three stem support. Engraved in Hebrew with a dedication from the Abu family that build the current structure on the kever of Reb Shimon Bar Yochai in Meron. R. Nachman Abbu (the donor of this spice container) was the son of  R. Avraham Chaim Abbo. He was born in 1862. He is the grandson of the gaon Rabbi Shmuel Abu, zt”l, who was the Rov of the Safed synagogue for more than forty years He was also the French consul in Tiberias and Safed. Rabbi Nachman Abbu, on his mother's side, was the grandson of the Gaon Rabbi Chaim Nachum Mizrahi, zt”l. The Abbu family constructed the structure in Meron that houses the Kever of R' Shimon bar Yochai Dimensions: 5.2 in Weight: 126 g
