A single brass military uniform button. The face features an intertwined royal cypher beneath a King's crown — typical of British army and royal household uniform buttons. The reverse carries the well-known maker's backmark ”FIRMIN — LONDON” flanked by stars, with the original loop shank intact. Firmin & Sons of London is one of the oldest and most respected British button and insignia makers, supplying military and royal uniforms for well over two centuries, which makes their early buttons collectible.Condition: aged, with worn gilt, surface scratches and an even patina; the shank is intact. The exact cypher would benefit from closer in-hand examination.
