Bidspirit auction | Israel, 1 Lira banknote, 1958

Israel, 1 Lira banknote, 1958 (5718 / התשי”ח), Bank of Israel, second series. Obverse: fisherman with net and anchor at a harbor with boats; reverse: mosaic menorah motif with pomegranates. Serial number 0872833, prefix מ/8, in brown/reddish-brown. Note: this issue exists with black and with red serials — a genuine red serial is the scarcer, more collectible variety, so the exact serial color is worth confirming in hand.
