Bidspirit auction | Rare and highly sought —

Rare and highly sought — the complete 1948 ”Doar Ivri” first postal issue in plate-number corner blocks of 4, MNH. Israel, first stamp issue of the State (Doar Ivri, ”Hebrew Post”), May 1948, ancient Judean coin designs. The full set of six values, each as a corner plate block of 4 bearing the ”group flower” plate number (”1”) and control/sheet number in the margin: 3m orange (#29965), 5m green (#13666), 10m purple (#32458), 15m red (#05735), 20m blue (#20036) and 50m brown (#14289). Condition: mint never hinged (MNH), fresh color, corner margins with plate numbers intact. As the founding issue of Israeli philately, a complete plate-block set of Doar Ivri is a premier collector item — value strongly tied to gum freshness, centering and margin condition.
