Condition: Fair to good, with moth holes in the first half of the book near the spine, with some slight text loss. New binding with gold embossing. About Rabbi Moshe Shlomo Zalman of Krakow: Rabbi Moshe Shlomo Zalman Beshka, the brother of Rabbi Tzvi Hirsch of Zamost (Av Beit Din of Gluga and Brad), author of Tiferes Tzvi, was a prominent Torah scholar of his time. Initially serving as the rabbi in Koritz, in 1805 he became the Av Beit Din of Krakow. Due to conflicts between the Hasidim and Misnagdim, he moved to Warsaw. His approbation appears in the book Shirah LeChaim (Warsaw, 1814), among others. Originally named Moshe, the Maggid of Koznitz added the name ”Shlomo Zalman.” His brother, Rabbi Tzvi Hirsch Zamosht Beshka, was the author of Tiferes Tzvi. His brother-in-law, Rabbi Azriel Horowitz, was known as the ”Iron Head.”
