Torah, Five Megillot, and Former Prophets with ”Minchat Shai” and Word Explanations in Italian – Pisa, Teksav, 1803 A volume containing the Five Books of the Torah, Five Megillot, and the Former Prophets with a separate title page for the ”Twenty-Four” (Tanakh), featuring the ”Minchat Shai” and word explanations in Ladino (Judeo-Spanish) using Hebrew (Rashi) script. The volume includes an introduction from the printers [Sadon and Pua] and several pages with various grammatical tables, measurements, and the ”Order of Study” according to the Torah portions of the year. The Torah portion title page is missing, as well as the final pages of the Book of Kings. Condition: Good to moderate, with some stains and missing pages as described. This edition is a beautiful example of the integration of Ladino and Hebrew, and it reflects the rich Jewish tradition of Judeo-Spanish commentary and interpretation.
