The Holy of Holies - Tobacco of the Divine Kabbalist, the Miracle Worker, Rabbi Baba Sali, of Blessed Memory (Z”L).

The Holy of Holies and its fragrance in the fear of the Lord – tobacco of the divine Kabbalist, the miracle worker, Rabbi Baba Sali, of Blessed Memory, without any mixture of other tobacco, a memento from the Hilulah (memorial service) of the righteous Tzaddik, Z”L, 5779 (2019).

In the book Baba Sali (Part 2, page 57), our Rabbi recounted that when his father, Rabbi Masoud, of Blessed Memory, was young, he asked the holy Rabbi Yaakov (the holy grandfather) to teach him Kabbalah and the writings of the Ari’zal (Rabbi Isaac Luria, Z”L). His father, Rabbi Masoud, of Blessed Memory, became highly proficient in Kabbalah and the hidden secrets. He wrote a prayer book with all the mystical intentions for prayer in great detail. When the holy grandfather, Rabbi Yaakov, saw it, he greatly rejoiced and said, "Know, my beloved son, that among all these intentions, I am most focused when I smell the tobacco."

In the book Shnei Meorot (Ohr HaSheni), it brings the words of Rabbi Levi Yitzchak of Berdichev, who said that through tobacco, one can cancel negative thoughts.

In the book Aser Orot (section 61), it brings the words of the Chozeh (seer) of Lublin, who told an angry person that tobacco has the ability to remove anger.

In the book Ner Yisrael (Volume 4, page 507), it cites Rabbi David of Dinov, of Blessed Memory, who said that tobacco brings calmness of mind.

In the book Yismach Moshe on the Prophets and Writings, it is written in the introduction that the letters of the word tobacco are an acronym for Kadosh B’rov Tovcha (Holy in Your Great Goodness).

In the book Lev Sameach (new edition), it is brought in the name of Rabbi Kalonymous of Kamenitz, of Blessed Memory, that tobacco has the numerical value of Yavak (a Hebrew word meaning ‘to purify’), which refers to the Yichud Berachah K’dushah (a unification of blessings and holiness).

Additionally, the letters of tobacco form an acronym: Yianenu B’Yom Karanu (He will answer us on the day we call upon Him).

The tobacco is enclosed in a laminated card, with a picture of the Tzaddik and a sample of his holy signature.
