The figure is built very carefully: the emphasized vertical silhouette, strict proportions and the ”rigid” geometry of the costume turn the hero into a recognizable type — the bearer of bureaucratic power and cold regulation. The graphite pencil allows Tatlin to work precisely and economically: the line confidently captures the main volumes, the nature of the folds and the fit of the clothes, highlighting the functional details and the overall rhythm of the shape. In this sheet, the costume is thought of not as a decorative shell, but as part of the drama — a plastic sign of the character, reinforcing the satirical nature of the play and emphasizing Sviridov's character through the silhouette and ”architecture” of clothing. Alexandra Nikolaevna Korsakova (Rudovich) (1904-1990) was a graphic artist and illustrator. Wife of V.E. Tatlin. Painter, graphic artist, architect, set designer. Around 1902, he came to Moscow and painted icons for a living. In the same year he entered MUZhViZ, studied under K.A. Korovin and V.A. Serov. In 1904 he entered the Penza Art College named after N. Seliverstov, studied under I.S. Goryushkin-Sorokopudov and A.F. Afanasyev. In 1909, he resumed his studies at MUZhViZ, where he met the Burlyuk brothers, M.F. Larionov, the Vesnin brothers and other avant-garde artists. In 1912, he took part in the Donkey's Tail exhibition in Moscow. He created illustrations for V.V. Khlebnikov's book ”The World of the Congregation”. In 1918, he became the head of the art college of the Art Department of the People's Commissariat of Education. In 1927-1930— he was a professor at VKhUTEIN in Moscow. In 1924-1930, he worked on the design of a human-powered glider (”Letatlin”). In 1931-1933, he headed the Research Laboratory of Plastic Arts in Moscow. In the 1930s and 1940s, he worked primarily as a theater artist. He returned to figurative painting. Tatlin's works are in the collections of the State Tretyakov Gallery, the Pushkin State Museum of Fine Arts in Moscow, and the State Russian Museum in St. Petersburg.
