Krylov Andrey Porfirievich (1929-2021) ”In the Chilean Zoo” 1973-1974. Paper, ink, pencil. 54x40 cm . - The sheet ”In the Chilean Zoo” refers to Andrey Krylov's graphic works of the 1970s, where observing life turns into an accurate, poignant scene. The zoo here is not just a place of action, but a kind of ”theater” in which the plasticity of animals, the rhythm of movement and random gestures add up to a single impression pattern. The pencil sets the design and space, outlines the proportions and dynamics, and the ink enhances the dramaturgy of the sheet.: The active contour, elastic stroke and contrast of the light field with black accents make the image collected and expressive. The artist works economically, without excessive detail, achieving a sense of vivid immediacy, as if the scene is captured on the spot, in one breathing rhythm. The large format highlights the panoramic view and gives the drawing an ”air” feel: This is not a miniature sketch, but an independent composition in which reportage is combined with professional graphic culture.
