Krylov Andrey Porfirievich (1929-2021) ”The Lady”, paper, pencil, 59x34.5 cm. - The ”Lady” sheet demonstrates the strong side of Andrey Krylov's graphics — the ability to create a complete image with minimal means. The work is based on an expressive silhouette and precise line plasticity: the pencil contour captures the pose, character and inner composure of the model, turning the figure into a stage sign where gesture and rhythm are important, rather than portrait detail. The composition is based on the balance of an empty field and active dashed areas. Light volume modeling and nuanced hatching set the chiaroscuro, while maintaining the feeling of improvisation — like a quick, confident drawing from nature. The large format enhances the effect of presence and allows you to perceive the work as an independent work of easel graphics, revealing the culture of drawing and the ”theatricality” of the author's thinking.
