Full member of the USSR Academy of Arts (1988), Honored Artist of the RSFSR, professor, head of the department of monumental and decorative painting of the Moscow Higher Art and Industrial School. The artist’s works are in many museums, private collections and galleries in the country and abroad.
Filatchev's work represents a special direction in Soviet painting, combining the principles of easel and monumental art.
