Carl Buchheister - Carl Buchheister 1890 Hanover - 1964 Hanover - Untitled - Ink and watercolor/paper. 10.4 x 14.9 cm. 25.5 x 29.5 cm (overall size). Matted. Framed under glass. Mounted in spots on backing card. Buchheister studied at the Berlin Kunstgewerbemuseum. He settled in Hanover as a freelance artist and founded the artists' association ”Die Abstrakten Hannover” in 1927, together with Kurt Schwitters and others. He was also a member of the Parisian group ”Abstraction-Création”. After 1945, Buchheister lived and worked in seclusion and from 1958 he lived in France for half the year. His works are represented in international collections.
