Because of his abstract style of painting, he was banned from exhibiting from 1933 to 1945. In 1949, Götz became a member of the COBRA group. This work is one of the very few known hand-painted covers by the artist for the luxury edition of the magazine ”Cobra 5”, published in 1950.
