Georg Kindermann was a German painter, decorative painter, art professor and co-founder of the Hannover 96 sports club. He grew up in Hannover, where he learned to play rugby. The principal of his school encouraged him and other rugby enthusiasts to found their own club. Thus, on April 12, 1896, Georg Kindermann became one of the co-founders of the ”Hanover Football Club of 1896”. In 1939 and 1940, Kindermann was president of the Hannover 96 club, which he co-founded. After completing his studies, Georg Kindermann taught as a professor at the School of Arts and Crafts in Hanover. One of his students was the artist Karl Pohle. In the 1920s, Kindermann belonged to a group of artists whose main figure was probably Kurt Schwitters and which also included artists such as Carl Buchheister, Käte Steinitz, Hans Völker and Reinecke-Altenau. Kindermann designed war postcards during the First World War, but after the war he also designed book covers and the cover for a Zinnober-Festschrift by Kurt Schwitters. He is also known for painting the ceiling of the first clubhouse of the ”Hannover 96” sports club.
