Fritz Klimsch - Fritz Klimsch 1870 Frankfurt/M. - 1960 Freiburg - ”Mädchen mit Turban”- (probably 1955) Bronze. Brown patina. H. 30 cm. Signed on the foot: FH. Foundry mark: H. Noack, Berlin. The work was probably created around 1955 in a small edition. According to Hermann Braun, it is a smaller version of the stone cast ”Am Strand” from 1926. - Cf.: WVZ Hermann Braun, 1991, p. 364, no. 131 - Cf.: Th.-B. XX, p. 502 Klimsch, who came from a family of artists, studied at the Berlin Academy under F. Schaper in 1886/94. He received the state prize in 1894. Further studies in Italy, where he became a member of the artists' association in Rome. He also lived in Paris for some time. Klimsch was a co-founder of the Berlin Secession in 1898. He was a member of the Berlin Academy from 1912. Klisch became a professor in Berlin in 1921.
