Naser al-Din Shah Qajar (1831-1896) was the fourth Shah of the Qajar dynasty and ruled Iran from 1848 until his assassination in 1896. He was known for his interest in modernization, the arts, and European culture. During his reign, photography, telegraphy, and printing were introduced in Iran.
