Chinese Yixing Zisha Teapot by Gu Jingzhou - Chinese Yixing Zisha teapot by Gu Jingzhou China, 20th century. Zisha clay. H. approx. 10 cm. L. approx. 15 cm. Engraved base mark: Gu Jingzhou Zhi. Globular body in the shape of a rooster. Very good condition with slight signs of wear. Gu Jingzhou (1915-1996) was a Chinese master potter and artist. He became known for his Yixing teapots, traditionally made from purple-brown Zisha clay and unglazed. Gu Jingzhou's teapots are highly sought after by Chinese museums and art lovers.
