The sheet is loose. Minimal foxing. Minimally browned. 1951-55 studied at the School of Applied Arts in Prague. 1955-61 studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague. In 1961, he began his collaboration with the Prague theater group ”Black Theatre”. As an actor, he traveled with the group through Western and Eastern Europe, the Soviet Union, Scandinavia, the USA, Canada, Cuba, and Australia. His printing plates were created during these travels. Anderle is one of the most highly awarded graphic artists of the present day. In 1980, he received the Honorary and Special Prize of the World Print Council, San Francisco, in 1982 the Gold Medal of the 6th Norwegian Print Biennale, Frederikstad, and in 1991 he won the Grand Prix of the 1st Triennale Europea dell'Incisione, Udine in Italy. His graphics are represented in international museums and collections. Jiri Anderle lives and works in Prague.
