The sheet is loose. Edge defects. Brüning studied at the State Academy of Fine Arts in Stuttgart from 1950 and initially oriented himself on the style of his teacher Willi Baumeister and his role models Fernand Léger and Pablo Picasso. With G. Hoehme and W. Gaul, he formed the ”Künstlergruppe Niederrhein” in 1953, and later the ”Gruppe 53”. From 1966 onwards, plastic objects and spatial arrangements were created, including his most famous work, the motorway monument in Ehrenberg from 1968.
