Rare cylindrical Qianjiang vase - Ren Huanchang - Rare cylindrical Qianjiang vase - Ren Huanchang China, late Qing Dynasty. Porcelain, glazed, with Qianjiang decor. H. 26.8 cm. D. of mouth: 13 cm. On the base, on the glaze, four Chinese characters in a red seal: Guan Yáo nèi zào (''Made in official factory''). Cylindrical body with a slightly flared foot and rim. Two blue rings at the foot and mouth. Painting in Qianjiang technique with poetic inscription, signed: Ren Huanchang, with a red seal. Good condition with signs of age and use. Qianjiang porcelain in color painting is an innovative type of overglaze decoration developed in Jingdezhen during the late Qing Dynasty. From the Tongzhi and Guangxu eras to the early Republic of China, over a period of about 50 years, it united the ''three perfections'' of Chinese literati art - poetry, calligraphy, and painting - on porcelain. This combination created a new form of porcelain painting that merged traditional Chinese painting styles with ceramic art.
