Bronze, partially gilded and partially brownish patinated. H. 29 cm. Signs of age and use. The Guanyin figure holds a lotus flower in one hand and a Cintamani in the other. She sits on an elephant. Samantabhadra (Puxian Pusa) is an important Bodhisattva in Mahayana Buddhism, revered for his embodiment of practice, vows, and meditation. The lotus flower in his left hand symbolizes purity and spiritual awakening. The right hand, holding the Cintamani (a wish-fulfilling jewel), symbolizes compassion and the power to realize spiritual aspirations. The elephant symbolizes mental strength, purity, and the overcoming of obstacles.
