Jade Seal and Ruyi Scepter (Brush Rest) - Jade Seal and Ruyi Scepter (Brush Holder) China, 20th century. Ruyi scepter: Wood, hand-carved. L. 21.8 cm. Used as a brush holder. The elaborate carving shows a branch with leaves, lotus blossoms, a frog, and two snails. Good condition. Jade seal: Square shape with a semi-circular arched surface and a threaded hole. Dimensions: 3.4 × 2.7 × 3.2 cm. A natural, elongated hairline crack, with dark brownish coloring, runs along one side of the crack. Slightly damaged.
