Paper, Arabic calligraphy, presumably from the Quran or another religious text. Dimensions: approx. 33 × 26 cm. 2 leaves, 4 pages. Condition: Browned; paper glue on the edge; wormholes; edge defects. The text is written in a calligraphic style, possibly in Bihari script, and contains some red Persian annotations below. With gold, red and blue ink in blossom-shaped markings. Calligraphy combines aesthetics, spirituality and discipline. Qur'an manuscripts are central testimonies of Islamic cultural history. Each line follows rules - proportion, rhythm, harmony.
