Bronze Buddha Head on Wooden Pedestal - Bronze Buddha head on wooden pedestal. Tibetan, probably early 20th century or earlier. Bronze with dark patina. H. without base approx. 35 cm, with base approx. 57 cm. Weight approx. 4 kg. Condition: Well preserved with age-appropriate signs of wear. The Buddha head has symbolic features such as the Ushnisha and elongated earlobes, reflecting wisdom and spiritual insight. Influenced by Nepalese and Chinese styles, Tibetan sculpture developed its own aesthetic by the 15th century, characterized by serene expression, balanced proportions, and fine details. The sculpture depicts the Buddha in meditative calm, designed with fine relief work and symbolic features central to Tibetan iconography. The head is covered with concentric rows of tightly coiled curls rising above the Ushnisha.
