Rare plate with jiang-dòu-hóng glaze and Yongzheng mark - Rare plate with jiang-dòu-hóng glaze and Yongzheng mark China, probably 19th century. Porcelain with red glaze. H. 4.3 cm, D. of mouth 18.7 cm. Underglaze blue six-character base mark within two blue rings: Dà Qing Yongzhèng Nián Zh (Made in the Yongzheng era of the Great Qing Dynasty). Condition: Signs of wear. ''jiang dòu hóng'' is a very specific and famous ceramic red glaze from the Qing Dynasty - known in English as 'Peachbloom Red'. It was developed during the Kangxi period (1662-1722) and is extremely difficult to control, as it is based on a copper-red glaze that changes in the kiln. It is famous for its soft, organic, and natural-looking color transitions.
