Dalí repeatedly used the motif of Alice, both in his sculptural and printed work. Dalí was a painter, graphic artist, writer, sculptor, stage designer, and actor. In 1928 he went to Paris and became acquainted with the Surrealist movement. An exhibition of his Surrealist works at the Julien Levy Gallery in New York made him known in the USA. His first retrospective took place there in 1941. Dalí is one of the most famous protagonists of Surrealism and received numerous international awards.
