Designed by Marcantonio Malerba (born 1976). The term Kintsugi describes an ancient Japanese repair method for ceramics, in which breakages or flaws are not hidden, but are even highlighted by the use of adhesive lacquer refined with gold, silver, or platinum powder. Fascinated by this reinterpretation of the perceived flaw as aesthetic added value, Marcantonio designed a tableware series from ”shard material”. Preview possible at Museum August Kestner.
