Designed by Marcantonio Malerba (born 1976). The term Kintsugi describes an ancient Japanese repair method for ceramics, where breaks or imperfections are not hidden, but rather highlighted through the use of lacquer embellished with gold, silver, or platinum powder. Fascinated by this reinterpretation of perceived flaws into aesthetic added value, Marcantonio designed a tableware series from ”broken pieces”. Preview at the Museum August Kestner is possible.
