Small Kendi Vessel (Wine Pot) with Dragon Motif - Small Kendi Vessel (Wine Pot) with Dragon Motif China, probably late Qing Dynasty. Porcelain, blue-and-white underglaze decoration. H. 8.5 cm. Condition: Good state of preservation with signs of age. Elegant kendi vessel with a spherical body and a high, cylindrical neck. The body is decorated with two striding dragons and wave motifs. Dragons symbolize imperial power, protection, and auspicious energy. Kendi vessels were traditionally used for ritual or ceremonial libations, especially in Southeast Asian cultures. Sometimes they were also used for serving liquids such as tea, wine, or medicinal infusions.
