Signed lower left: Brauer. Passe-partout. Framed under glass. Slightly wavy. Glass somewhat soiled. The artist studied at the Vienna Academy until 1951 and founded, among others with Ernst Fuchs and Rudolf Hausner, the Vienna School of Fantastic Realism. He traveled through Europe, Africa and Israel and lived with his Yemeni wife in Paris for a time. His artistic life includes not only painting but also singing, with which he was particularly successful in the 1970s. During this time, he also began his work as a stage designer. In the 1990s, he taught as a professor at the Vienna Academy. He completed the Arik Brauer House in Vienna in 1994, connecting it to the construction of the artists' village En Hod in Israel in the 1960s.
